But still the most part of us use different phrases and have no idea that they are from this famous game. How often can you hear such word combinations as "cash in", "blue chip", "high roller", "call one's bluff" and many more? So, probably, this game really has become a part of American culture.

ALL-IN: You should said this word when you are putting your playable money and chips in the pot.
ANTE: A sum of money that should be posted before the start of a hand.
BLIND: A necessary bet which should be made before cards are dealt.
BOXED CARD: A faceup card in the deck while the other cards are facedown.
COLLECTION: The fee for a game which is taken out of the pot or from every player.
DEAD MONEY: Chips which are not the part of some player's bet. They should be placed into the center of the pot.
FLOP: The three community cards, which should be turned simultaneously just after the first round of betting is over.
FULL HOUSE: A hand which contains a king and a pair.
SHOWDOWN: The act of determining of the winner of the pot. It should be made when the betting is made. |
